Rudaina Banihani

Dr. Banihani is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Paediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is a Neonatologist and Developmental Paediatrician in the Division of newborn and developmental paediatric at Sunnybrook Health Science Centre (SHCS), providing clinical care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Neonatal Follow-up clinic. Dr. Banihani is the medical director of the Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic at (SHCS). She is one of the few paediatricians in North America to have completed this combined sub-specialty training. Dr. Banihani has had a long-standing interest clinically and academically in understanding, evaluating, and early identification of neurodevelopment and early learning challenges in NICU graduates and children with brain injuries, brain malformations and genetic syndromes identified in the neonatal period. She works closely with schools, preschools, and other agencies involved with medical and developmental care to ensure they understand the needs of these unique children and their families. Dr. Banihani is excited to be part of this amazing team to provide evidence-based medical/developmental information to our community in their language and allow our community to ask questions and present topics unique to our Arabic-speaking community.
